BALDWIN CONSIDERED SUICIDE WHEN BRANDED BAD DAD01/05/2007The actor - who went through a bitter custody battle with his ex-wife Kim Basinger for their 11-year-old daughter Ireland - has revealed he couldn't face living when people questioned his parenting skills. He told Britain's GQ magazine: "When the papers said all of these things, like I wasn't a good father, and they painted me in this really bad light, it was like a nightmare." "I remember lying in bed thinking I wanted to die on the spot. I wasn't going to jump out a window because with my luck I'd land on someone and we'd both be paralyzed, and then I wouldn't have any money to leave my daughter because I would get sued." "But I would go to bed, and I would say, 'Please don't let me wake up. I can't face another day.'" The 48-year-old star insists he is a fantastic father and a total slave to his daughter when they are together. He said: "I don't hesitate to say that as a father, I feel like I'm in the top one percent. I'm commuting to Los Angeles every other weekend to see my daughter. I just worship Ireland."
